Enhance your total rewards strategy with Protection Plus Benefits
At Saskatchewan Blue Cross, we’re continuously enhancing our products and services to allow you to offer more flexible options to your clients. We’re excited to announce a new offering: Protection Plus Benefits.
Effective May 27, 2024, Protection Plus Benefits will be replacing traditional optional life, optional accidental death and dismemberment, and optional critical illness benefits on all new qualifying group quotes.
What is Protection Plus
Protection Plus Benefits offers greater options for plan members, including keeping their coverage if they leave their existing group plan. New groups consisting of 11 lives or more are eligible for Protection Plus. New groups will be provided with a 31-day open enrolment period.
Our secure online platform allows members to select personalized coverage for life, accidental death and dismemberment, and critical illness insurance. The platform also collects premiums directly from members, eliminating the administrative work for plan administrators.
Online applications take minutes, with quotes in less than 90 seconds. Group rates are in effect, meaning members are offered protection at a lower cost.
What does this mean for Advisors
Advisor commissions are based on the following:
- A 20% commission is paid on the annualized premium sold on new sales. This applies to the first year with no trailing commission.
- Increases in coverage earn 20% of the annualized additional premium sold.
- Must be life licensed to be eligible for commission.
Commissions are to be paid annually, in January each year, for new sales incurred in the prior calendar year.
Who will this be available for?
The new Protection Plus Benefits will be offered in all new qualifying quotes effective May 27, 2024. We look forward to rolling out this benefit to existing groups in 2025.
