Saskatchewan Blue Cross® introduces New Travel Insurance Plans offering coverage for COVID-19
Saskatchewan Blue Cross announced new Annual and Individual travel insurance plans today that include medical coverage for COVID-19 and free policy extensions when travellers face quarantine requirements. The new plans are available for purchase, effective October 1, 2020.
The Government of Canada continues to advise against all non-essential travel, and Saskatchewan Blue Cross strongly recommends adhering to this guidance. They also recognize that residents of the province require medical coverage for essential travel to destinations within Canada and abroad.
“We’re committed to the safety, health and wellness of Saskatchewan residents. Right now, that means ensuring our travel insurance plans cover the needs of those who must travel during the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Megan Douglas, VP, Customer Relations and External Affairs. “Travel insurance can be complicated, and we encourage travellers to ask questions. If you need to travel, be sure you look at what your coverage maximums are, whether your provider’s coverage extends to your travel destination during the Government travel advisory, and what medical and non-medical expenses your plan covers to ensure you’re adequately protected.”
The new Saskatchewan Blue Cross Annual and Individual travel plans include Emergency Medical Care coverage of up to $5,000,000, including for COVID-19. In addition to Emergency Medical Care coverage, the plans include 24/7 Travel Assistance, optional deductibles to help members save on their insurance premium, and optional coverage add-ons to help ensure travellers are prepared for any emergency that may arise.
