Saskatchewan Blue Cross to Honour National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
On September 30, Saskatchewan Blue Cross will close its operations in observance of the National Day of Truth & Reconciliation. While it is not a requirement in our province to honour this day, we feel as an organization founded to support the well-being of all residents of Saskatchewan that it is important to give our employees a day to learn, listen and reflect.
“As an organization, we know we have work to do on our journey towards truth and reconciliation,” says President & CEO Shelley Vandenberg. “We are committed to hearing the voices of our employees, continuing on our learning journey and creating new partnerships with Indigenous-led organizations aimed at improving health-related services for Indigenous communities in Saskatchewan.”
Saskatchewan Blue Cross supports the Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action, and recognizing September 30 is just one action we are taking in support of truth and reconciliation. We are encouraging everyone to make space on September 30 to learn and reflect on this important day.
