Investing in Saskatchewan Communities

At Saskatchewan Blue Cross, supporting our local community is who we are. We invest in charitable organizations that empower individuals and communities on their journey to whole health. We’ve been busy over the summer getting back out into the community and are looking forward to a busy fall!

A few community investment highlights from over the summer…

Saskatchewan Blue Cross MS Walk

Support from events like MS Walk ensures that no one living with MS is alone in their journey. In 2022, $80K was raised to Find a Cure for MS in Saskatchewan. Saskatchewan Blue Cross is a proud sponsor of this event with the MS Walk in Saskatoon raising over $42K with 130 participants, and raising over $38K with 128 participants in Regina. Funds raised through the Walk will allow the MS Society to continue to invest in fundamental research and take meaningful action for the 1 in 400 Canadians who live with MS.

United Way Day of Caring

The United Way Day of Caring is focused on strengthening our neighborhoods and building our community through volunteerism. It offers participants from the business community the opportunity to experience the rewards of volunteerism and demonstrate the difference we can make by working together. A variety of hands-on projects are supported each year, helping to build the capacity of community-based organizations in Saskatoon. This year, 15 projects took place at different community-based organizations around Saskatoon. Teams of volunteers from the broader business community lent their time, energy, and skills to tackle this important work head-on. Saskatchewan Blue Cross is the proud title sponsor of this city-wide event, organized each year by United Way of Saskatoon and Area.

Celebrating Pride

This year, Saskatchewan Blue Cross entered a team to walk in the Saskatoon Pride Parade! Our team of employees, family and fur-family were proud to support the Saskatoon Pride events, which recognize, value, celebrate, and support Two Spirit, queer, lesbian, gay, trans, bi, and other gender and sexually-diverse people and their families.

Synergy 8 Drive for Kids

Saskatchewan Blue Cross was a proud sponsor for the Synergy 8 Drive for Kids Campaign as a sponsor of the Mobile Mental Health/Outreach Vehicles. The campaign raises funds for two Mobile Transit Vehicles that will be staffed with Outreach/Mental Health staff.

Our very own Megan Douglas, Senior Vice-President, Chief Brand & Commercial Officer is joining a group of community leaders who have taken on the brave challenge of being dropped off at a remote location with the goal of raising $50,000 for STARS.

To support this year’s STARS Rescue on the Prairie, Saskatchewan Blue Cross will proudly match all donations up to $30,000. Every dollar raised helps to save lives. Click here to donate to this year’s event!
