Saskatoon Heart Safe Program

Saskatoon Heart Safe Program February 22, 2017 – Saskatoon, SK

A middle-aged man plays golf on a Sunday afternoon. A young father hits the ice for a late night hockey game. A couple enjoys a date-night at the local theatre. These are all moments that changed course in an instant due to Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Thanks to the Saskatoon Heart Safe Program, all of their lives were saved. The Saskatoon Heart Safe Program is a community initiative aimed at providing rapid access to defibrillation in case of Sudden Cardiac Arrest.

Since 2013 we have been a proud corporate partner of this program which places AEDs in business, community spaces and sporting venues throughout Saskatoon and surrounding communities. To date the program has placed AEDs in more than 900 Heart Safe sites in the community and has saved 23 lives. Since its inception in 2001, the program has grown to become the largest of its kind per capita in North America.

With each life saved, the success and importance of this program is proven and we are proud to be a part of this initiative to make our community a safer place to live, work and play.
